The recruiting basics
- Know your realistic level: NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA or junior college. Ask your club coach for an honest view.
- Build a short highlight video and a one-page profile with academics, position, club, league and schedule.
- Email college coaches directly, early, with your schedule. Follow up after events they attend.
- Keep your grades up. Academics open more doors than most players expect.
- Learn the contact rules for your sport and division, and when coaches are allowed to reply.
Where clubs fit
Your club, league and showcase schedule shape who sees you play. Elite platforms such as ECNL, MLS NEXT and the Girls Academy run college showcases, but plenty of players are recruited from other levels too.
Frequently asked questions
When should a player start the college recruiting process?
Most players start researching schools and contacting coaches in their freshman or sophomore year of high school. Rules on when college coaches can respond differ by division, so check the current rules for your sport.
Is Link-Up free?
Yes. Link-Up is free for parents, athletes, coaches and club directors. Find Your Club is paid by the clubs, events and providers it works with, not by the people looking for them.
Who sees my information?
Only the organizations on your shortlist, and only because you tell us they can contact you. You confirm that before anything is sent. We also email your shortlist to you.
How are matches ordered?
By how close they are to you and how well they fit what you told us. Find Your Club partners with verified profiles and video reviews are labeled Featured and shown first among the matches in your area. Everything else is listed by distance.
What if a club or provider isn't a Find Your Club partner?
You can still shortlist it. We list every organization we know about, and we'll pass your request along on your behalf so they can get back to you.
What if the club I want isn't listed?
Add it to your shortlist by name. We'll find it and reach out, and add it to the directory.
