Genesis Football Club

Genesis Football Club (Genesis FC) is the competitive youth soccer program of the Genesis Youth Foundation, a Des Moines, Iowa nonprofit founded in 2009 by Sam and Tricia Gabriel to level the playing field for immigrant and refugee youth and families in Iowa. Many of its players come from African immigrant and refugee families, and the club works to make competitive soccer affordable or free, with scholarships and transportation support, so cost is never a barrier to play.

Genesis FC fields teams that compete in the Iowa Soccer League with spring seasons and tournaments, plus an indoor winter program, for boys and girls from age 4 through high school, all led by professional coaching. Beyond the field, the Genesis Youth Foundation pairs soccer with academic support, leadership development and cultural enrichment, and its teams have represented Iowa at the national Target USA Cup.
