Johnston Urbandale Soccer Club: Two Cities, One Community

A Complete Player Pathway

Johnston Urbandale Soccer Club (JUSC) offers a comprehensive developmental roadmap that serves as a hub for both community-based recreation and high-performance ambition in Central Iowa.

• Discovery Program (4U–8U): The entry point for the club's youngest athletes. It focuses on introductory skills and the pure joy of movement, utilizing volunteer coaches supported by professional guidance.
• Academy Program (9U–10U): A critical developmental bridge between recreational and competitive soccer. Players receive professional coaching and a structured curriculum to prepare for the jump to travel levels.
• Recreational League (9U–19U): The heart of the club's community efforts. This "no-pressure" track is designed for players who want to continue playing for fun, fitness, and friendship without a heavy travel commitment.
• Elite Pathway (Sporting Iowa): JUSC is a founding partner of Sporting Iowa. For players seeking the highest level of competition (11U–19U), this partnership provides a direct pipeline to the ECNL and the Sporting Kansas City professional pathway.

The JUSC Advantage

Founded in 1975, JUSC is a unique coalition between two vibrant cities, allowing the club to pool resources and talent to offer a deeper player experience.

• Double the Home Field Advantage: Members have dedicated access to both the Johnston Soccer Complex and the Urbandale Soccer Complex. These professionally managed natural grass facilities ensure high-quality training and match environments.
• Sporting Iowa Connection: As a founding member of the Sporting Iowa alliance, JUSC provides a tangible route to the professional and collegiate levels. Players gain access to an MLS-affiliated curriculum and top-tier national scouting networks.
• Half-Century Legacy: With 50 years of history, JUSC is one of Iowa's longest-standing soccer institutions. This stability fosters a culture of generational loyalty, with many former players now returning as coaches and parents.
• Inclusive & Accessible: JUSC prides itself on being a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) that offers tiered programming, ensuring that soccer remains accessible to all families in the Greater Des Moines area.

Mission and Values

JUSC is dedicated to fostering a lifelong love of the game through equal participation and skill building. The club focuses on creating a "people-first" environment where local rivals from two cities become teammates and resilient young leaders.

• Our Commitment: To provide a professionally structured soccer environment that encourages every player to achieve their highest potential on and off the field.
