Saint Paul Blackhawks: Character, Diversity, and Excellence

A Complete Player Pathway

The Blackhawks offer a comprehensive year-round program that takes players from their first touches to elite adult competition, serving youth ages 5 to 19 and beyond.

• Little Hawks (U5–U8): An introductory program focused on developing fundamental skills and a love for the game in a supportive environment.
• Youth Traveling (U9–U19): The core competitive tiers. Summer traveling teams begin at age 9, with fall leagues and winter training providing a continuous development cycle.
• Advanced Youth Competition: For elite-level athletes, the club participates in advanced platforms through the Twin Cities Soccer League (TCSL), ranging from State to National levels.
• Adult & Pre-Professional (UPSL): The pathway extends into adulthood with teams competing in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), offering a high-level competitive environment for college-age and adult players.

The Blackhawks Advantage

As the oldest soccer club in Minnesota, the Blackhawks combine deep historical roots with modern, professional management.

• Urban Heritage & Diversity: Founded in 1952 by European immigrants, the club takes immense pride in its inclusive "urban club" identity, welcoming players from a vast array of backgrounds and cultures.
• Premier Training Facilities: The club utilizes a wide network of fields across Saint Paul and Minneapolis, including the state-of-the-art Sanneh Fields (completed in 2021) and multiple winter dome locations like Concordia and Hmong College Prep Academy.
• Holistic Development: Training goes beyond technical drills to include futsal, winter indoor skills, and summer camps, ensuring players are well-rounded athletes who understand sportsmanship and responsibility.
• Proven Stability: With over 70 years of experience, the club has evolved from its immigrant roots into one of the top competitive youth organizations in the state.

Mission and Values

Incorporated as a non-profit in 1985, the Blackhawks are dedicated to serving the Saint Paul community. The club’s vision is centered on the belief that individual differences contribute to the success of high-performing teams.

• Our Commitment: To develop skilled, respectful athletes who wear their values on their sleeves and grow into resilient leaders on and off the field.
